Makassar, 22 September 2025 – Faculty of Engineering University Muslim Indonesia (UMI) stages Meeting Senate Luar Biasa at Senin, 22 September 2025, di Room Senate Faculty of Engineering UMI. Meeting this dipimpin langsung by Dean Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hj. St. Maryam H., M.T., and was attended by by jajaran Faculty Leadership, Head of Department, lecturer senior, and anggota senate others.

Agenda main meeting is discusses tiga isu strategic, yaitu penyusunan Curriculum ajar which relevan, development laboratory, and innovation kinerja kelembagaan.

Konteks Tantangan Pendidikan High 2025#

In pembukaan, Prof. St. Maryam affirms bahwa meeting this not hanya agenda rutin, melainkan respon nyata towards dinamika global pendidikan high. Tahun 2025 ditandai with berbagai perubahan large, among others:

  1. Transformasi Digital – Higher education institution dituntut for mengintegrasikan technology digital in all aspek pembelajaran, mulai from sistem Academic, research, until services administrasi.
  2. Revolusi Industri 4.0 & AI – Munculnya technology kecerdasan buatan, otomatisasi, and big data mengubah cara dunia industri beroperasi. Higher education institution need menyiapkan graduates which mampu beradaptasi with cepat.
  3. Green Energy & Sustainability – Isu energi terbarukan, ketahanan lingkungan, and keberlanjutan becomes sorotan global. Faculty of Engineering dituntut melahirkan innovation which ramah lingkungan.
  4. Competition Global – Students and graduates not lagi hanya bersaing secara lokal, but also menghadapi competition international. Kualitas Curriculum, research, and publication becomes tolok ukur penting.

Menurut Prof. St. Maryam, kondisi this menuntut Faculty of Engineering UMI for not hanya menjaga standard, but becomes pionir in innovation and kolaborasi global.

Curriculum: Menjawab Kebutuhan Masa Depan#

Meeting menyoroti urgensi reorientasi Curriculum so that according to with kebutuhan industri and perkembangan technology.

“Curriculum not dokumen statis, melainkan peta jalan which must terus disesuaikan with arah perubahan zaman. Graduates Faculty of Engineering UMI must dibekali kompetensi teknis, kemampuan adaptif, and wawasan keberlanjutan,” jelas Prof. St. Maryam.

Several poin which diusulkan in meeting meliputi:

  • Integrasi course berbasis AI, digitalisasi, and energi terbarukan.
  • Kolaborasi with industri strategic for menciptakan Curriculum berbasis kebutuhan nyata.
  • Strengthening aspek soft skills seperti komunikasi, kepemimpinan, and problem solving.

Laboratory: From Facilities Becomes Pusat Innovation#

Laboratory dipandang sebagai jantung development sains and technology di Faculty of Engineering UMI.

Head of Department Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Ir. Muhammad Balfas, M.T., menekankan: “Laboratory must dikembangkan not hanya for laboratory practical students, but also sebagai pusat innovation and research terapan which can menjawab persoalan bangsa.”

Meeting merekomendasikan:

  • Modernisasi equipment laboratory according to standard industri.
  • Laboratory lintas disiplin for mendukung research kolaboratif antarprodi.
  • Peningkatan standard keselamatan and manajemen berbasis ISO.

With step this, laboratory Faculty of Engineering UMI is expected becomes pusat unggulan research technology di Eastern Indonesia.

Innovation Kinerja: Builds Tata Kelola Adaptif#

Selain aspek Academic and research, meeting also menekankan pentingnya innovation tata kelola kelembagaan.

Dr. Ir. Andi Syarifuddin, S.T., M.T., conveys: “Innovation kinerja must mencakup digitalisasi administrasi, peningkatan kualitas PERSONNEL, and strengthening culture kerja kolaboratif. We must bergerak menuju tata kelola modern which transparan and akuntabel.”

Step which disepakati meliputi:

  • Penerapan sistem Information terintegrasi in pelayanan Academic.
  • Strengthening manajemen berbasis data for mendukung pengambilan keputusan.
  • Program peningkatan kapasitas lecturer and education personnel secara berkelanjutan.

Harapan and Penegasan#

Meeting ditutup with penekanan from Prof. St. Maryam bahwa Faculty of Engineering UMI memiliki tanggung jawab large in mencetak engineer muslim which Excellent, berdaya saing global, and berkarakter Islami.

“We hidup di era competition global which menuntut kecepatan adaptasi. Faculty of Engineering UMI must becomes pelopor in melahirkan innovation which not hanya berdampak bagi dunia industri, but also bermanfaat bagi masyarakat and umat,” tegasnya.

With Meeting Senate Luar Biasa this, Faculty of Engineering UMI semakin menunjukkan posisinya sebagai Faculty of Engineering terdepan di Eastern Indonesia which siap menghadapi tantangan global 2025 with Curriculum visioner, laboratory modern, and tata kelola inovatif.
